MAC iOS Kano app install error

I downloaded the MAC version of the Kano Code app on my iMac this morning from the Kano website and received an error that read… “Kano Code” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Does anyone know how to get past this? I’m using macOS Catalina version 10.15.2.

Thanks!

It looks like it hasn’t been notarized by apple. That means you can’t open it by default. Overriding this is not recommended unless you trust the source, but if you got it directly from Kano, it should be safe. Read near the bottom of this page from apple in the section “How to open an app that hasn’t been notarized or is from an unidentified developer”: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491

I tried going in to the support file link you provided, but there are no setting adjustments that I can make that will allow the Kano app to be installed. Very frustrating.

Okay, try reading this Kano Support Article: https://help.kano.me/hc/en-us/articles/360010994100--Malicious-Software-Error-When-Trying-to-Open-a-Kano-App-on-Mac-OS-
